What is Powered Up? Powered Up! is the midweek children’s ministry of Murrysville Community Church. Meeting on Thursday evenings, from 5:30-7:30PM, we enjoy the following:

• 5:30 – 5:40 – Opening Group Time
• 5:40 - 6:25 – PoweredUP “Body Fuel” Meal Time!
• 6:25 – 6:45 – Power Station #1
• 6:45 – 7:05 – Power Station #2
• 7:05 – 7:25 – Power Station #3
• 7:25 – 7:30 – Closing Group Time

Our “Power Stations” include: “Soul Fuel” Bible exploration; “Body Fuel” snacks and special activities like crafts, etc.; and “Recreation Station” – a fun time of energetic games. Your child won’t want to miss a week!

What are “Power Points” and “Prove It Passages?” – Power Points are spiritual truths that the children learn each week in Q & A format. For example, the first Power Point is: Q. Who made you? A. God. All Power Points come from a wonderful children’s version of the Westminster Shorter Catechism (a summary of Christian beliefs). If you’d like a copy for home and family use, please contact our church office.

However, along with memorizing their weekly Power Point, kids will also memorize a “Prove It Passage” – a Bible verse that demonstrates its truthfulness from Scripture.

Our hope is that children from MCC and the community will learn the entire children’s catechism, along with supporting Bible verses, this way – over the course of their elementary school years.

How will you encourage the kids to continue memorizing? We want the children of MCC and our community to know God and His Word inside and out. To do so, we’re encouraging parents to work with their children throughout the week. To this end, we’ll be sending home some resources as well as adding a page to this site, one dedicated to equipping parents for ministry in their homes!

As for further encouragement, we’re planning some fun “rewards” along the way, enjoyed by the kids during our regular meetings throughout the year. However, for those that either memorize all “Power Points” and “Prove It Passages” OR maintain perfect attendance at all Powered Up regular meetings, we’re planning a special prize – a free Powered Up Picnic Day at Idlewild next summer!
